This is a past event. Join us for a watch party of a long-lost opera by one of Chicago's first Hispanic composers to be performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Eustasio Rosales! His grandson, documentary filmmaker Arlen Parsa, will join us for a brief introduction at the beginning. The opera is performed in Spanish, with English subtitles. Here's a sneak peek of some of the music: https://youtu.be/7gK2N540O4g
The concert performance of this opera will be broadcast live on the ChiMOP Facebook page and will remain available until July 7th. In addition, Arlen's film about the making of this opera, The Way to Andina (trailer here: https://youtu.be/WjavwlkUNbI), will be available to watch on-demand for a limited amount of time. If you would like to see it, please join our mailing list before Tuesday by sending an email to andrea@chimop.org and we will send you the link after June 30th!
Bonus: see if you can spot a few current and former ChiMOP Teaching Artists in the video!
